Dr Cristina Read

Chartered Clinical Psychologist 

Dr Cristina Read has worked as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS since 2005 and in private practice since 2021. She has extensive experience working in CAMHS providing psychological assessment, evidence-based therapy and consultancy in mental health settings with families, children and young people. She is also an experienced clinical supervisor within both the NHS and a children’s charity.

Therapeutically, Cristina works collaboratively with young people and families to develop a shared understanding of the challenges and deliver personalised treatment plans. Cristina has a particular interest in helping young people who are experiencing Depression and Low Mood and also has a substantial amount of experience working with young people with a wide range of difficulties including Anxiety (such as Panic and OCD), Low Self-Esteem, Difficulties with School Attendance, Self-Harming Behaviours, Grief, Trauma and issues around Difference and Diversity.

Cristina’s specialism is providing therapy to adolescents who experience depression and struggle in their relationships. As a Clinical Psychologist, she has undertaken specialist training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Depressed Adolescents (IPT-A) and is both an accredited practitioner and supervisor with IPT UK. 

Cristina is chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS), is registered as a practitioner with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and has full disclosure and barring service checks completed (DBS). Cristina receives regular clinical supervision in relation to the assessment and therapy she provides, in line with the BPS code of conduct.
