Qualified Supervisor, Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist.
Member of BACP
BSCH (British Society of Clinical Hypnotherapists)
I have been working as an integrative Psychotherapist for over 20 years working with individuals and groups.
I qualified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist in 2009 as I became aware of its enormous potential for use with psychotherapy. The use of Hypnosis in Counselling and Psychotherapy reduces the length of therapy and introduces many new tools for effective and creative therapy. As an Integrative Counsellor, I use many different skills and styles to support my clients, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focus Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness and many more. I have specific training in working with ‘eating disorders’ with EDA (eating disorder association/ Beat) Mindfulness, Self-harm, as well as NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)
My specific interests are working with:
Anxiety,
Self-esteem,
Loss,
Depression,
Family conflicts,
Eating Disorders,
Weight Control,
Self-harm,
Couples.
Before starting to work as a counsellor I had been involved in working as a mentor, and youth worker supporting young people and families in schools and colleges, and youth services. I subsequently ran youth groups and Saturday schools alongside working as a counsellor.
