Richard Lee

About me

I am a fully qualified person centred therapist with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I think it is very difficult for a person to understand the control and destruction created from a difficult relationship with addictive substances or behaviours  and how this affects themselves and their loved ones.

I have over 20 years experience in the field of addiction and alcoholism. I also work with many other challenges such as developmental trauma, depression, anxiety, general anxiety disorder and OCD. I feel it is a honour to support anyone who has the courage to face these issues in their life and I believe it is important for clients to be given a good understanding of what recovery can be like, as well as knowledge of how their condition may have developed.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling Professionals (MBACP).

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I have worked with addiction and alcoholism for a number of years and have previously worked at the Priory Hospital North London on the Addiction Treatment Programme as a qualified therapist. I have experience working both with addiction and some of the underlying causes such as anxiety, depression, OCD and developmental trauma.

I have a good working knowledge of 12 step fellowships and the program of recovery from addiction and alcoholism.
